Burnt Orange Gingerbread Smash

Sometimes you just need to make a mess, especially when you can quite literally suck it up later….

Gingerbread Discs

200g Isomalt

1 tsp Gingerbread Syrup


30ml Whisky

15ml Starlino Torino or Cointreau

15ml Oloroso

15ml Filtered Water

1 dash Angostura Bitters

1 Wedge Orange, burnt under the grill


1. For the discs, add the isolamalt to a pan and melt over a medium heat. Increase the heat and bubble until clear.

2. Remove from the heat and add the gingerbread syrup. Stir to combine.

3. Divide between 6 silicon muffin moulds, with the largest bases you can find, it needs to be thin enough to crack. Leave to cool then pop into the fridge to set hard.

4. For the cocktail, add the remaining ingredients to a cocktail shaker and squeeze in the burnt orange juice. shake with 2 ice cubes for 30 seconds to chill then strain into a glass using a hawthorn strainer.

5. Top with a gingerbread disc for smashing….
