Purple Berry, Acai & Rose Sorbet

I guess from my recipes you can see that I am a bit of an ice cream/sorbet/ granita kind of girl. There is something about that searing pain, as though Satan himself has thrust a knife into your brain, that’s so addictive….

But I just can’t do run of the mill, my overactive mind seeks now flavours and fun. So, this inky, moody concoction really works for me.

Like the dark blanket of the night sky, it is devilish and fiendishly good.

Try it and make your own mind up

Ingredients:


700g Frozen Purple Berries, defrosted

1 tbsp Acai Powder

200g Caster Sugar

200g water

3 tbsp Vodka

2 tsp Rose Water

Method:


1. Add the berries and acai powder to a blender and blend to a puree.

2. Add the sugar and water to a large pan and simmer until the sugar has dissolved.

3. Add this to the fruit puree along with the vodka and rose water and chill overnight.

4. The next day, churn in an ice cream machine according to the manufacturer’s instructions then freeze for 1 hour until firm before serving.
