Sea Salt Cinnamon White Hot Chocolate with Dulce de Leche

YOU CAN’T WAKE A PERSON WHO IS PRETENDING TO BE ASLEEP. Denial is such a strange emotion. Burying your head in the sand will never resolve an issue. I have learned in life that facing fears can be the only route to resolution.

So, when I hear about people embarking on crazy New Year Resolutions, at a time when the months are long, cold, and relentless, I can’t help but feel a bit sad. Life is about long term, manageable change. Not quick fixes.


This is pure indulgence in the best possible way.

Ingredients:


Dulce De Leche:


1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk

1 tsp Cinnamon, ground

1 tsp Flaky Salt




White Hot Chocolate:


800ml Whole Milk

400g White Chocolate

1 tsp Vanilla Extract

½ tsp Flaky salt

1 tsp Cinnamon, ground

Method:


1. Preheat oven 220C. Empty the condensed milk into a 20cm x 20cm Roasting dish. Mix in the cinnamon and cover tightly with foil. Lay inside a roasting tin and fill halfway up the sides with boiling water.

2. Bae for 45 minutes then stir; it should be thick and caramelised. If not bake for 20 minutes, check and it may even need 20 minutes more. Stir though the salt and store in a jar in the fridge.

3. For the hot chocolate, blend all ingredients in a blender then add to a small pan. Heat until simmering, whilst whisking, until all the chocolate has dissolved.

4. Divide between 4 mugs with spoons to stir through the dulce de leche.
